Osheya is an organization dedicated to advancing the position of women in medicine, health, and wellness. To that end, Osheya will strive to improve legislative policy, make women’s healthcare more readily available, and organize female leaders in medicine and health – both in the public and private sectors.

The ultimate aim of the Osheya organization is to positively influence health and wellness for all women in Israel

The above goals will largely be achieved through the Osheya forum, a select group of women entrepreneurs, executives, healthcare providers, and other VIPs. The Osheya forum is an elite, invitation-only gathering for the discussion and formation of plans of action to address the gaps in women’s healthcare, promotion of women’s health, and means of rectifying these issues in the modern digital world.

Osheya understands that each woman is the gatekeeper and guardian of not just her own health, but the health and wellness of her entire family. Women are often the decision makers regarding nutritional, spiritual, and medical choices. The health of families in turn impacts the health of communities and the health of the nation as a whole.

Indeed, the role of women in the health of modern society cannot be understated. This is why it is vital and imperative that women continue to obtain leadership positions in medicine, industry, education, and government.

Furthermore, the gap in women’s healthcare must be closed – both for the sake of individual women and society at large.

Strategy

Osheya works towards its goals using a simultaneous strategy in two separate channels.

First, in a top down manner, Osheya strives to close gaps in policy and budgets that affect women’s health and wellness. Specific policies will also be targeted for reform through Osheya’s Topic of the Year initiative.

Next, in a bottom up approach, Osheya functions as a small, exclusive forum of 10-15 members, both virtually and face-to-face. This forum will work in cooperation to promote various projects and initiatives for the betterment of women’s health.

We can achieve more through teamwork and cooperation than we ever can alone. Therefore, we will pursue appropriate partnerships and joint ventures with relevant enterprises, companies, start-ups, and public health funds.

Founder

Osheya was founded by Michal Hemmo-Lotem, M.D. Dr. Hemmo-Lotem is not only a pediatrician but also a healthcare futurist and leader in medical innovation. She has over two decades of experience as a senior manager and entrepreneur. Dr. Hemmo-Lotem intimately understands the unique challenges and obstacles that women face in today’s society, especially regarding health and wellness.
